Finance Analyst – National Finance & Administration Services
Position Type: Full-Time
Starting Salary: $90,000
Year 2: $95,000 | Year 3: $100,000
Temporary Location: Naperville, IL
Future Location: Batavia, IL (anticipated October 2025)
Hybrid Work Eligible: Work remotely up to 3 days/week; in-office at least 2 days/week
About the Role
Join ALDI’s National Finance & Administration Services department and play a vital role in supporting critical resources and infrastructure that drive our business forward. You’ll provide data-driven insights and financial expertise to empower smarter decision-making across departments and ensure our retail divisions and executive leadership receive exceptional financial support.
You’ll work within one of our core Finance teams: Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Financial Reporting, Tax, or Treasury.
Key Responsibilities

Analyze financial data and reports to ensure accuracy and timely availability for business partners.

Deliver proactive, insightful analysis and presentations to support divisional VPs and executive leadership.

Create actionable reporting highlighting trends and opportunities for improvement.

Lead and support special projects, from defining deliverables to executing problem-solving strategies.

Provide non-standard, exception-based reporting to enable informed decisions and strategic improvements.

Identify and recommend process and reporting enhancements across financial operations.

Research and resolve variances in financial statements and reconcile accounts.

Support large-scale project rollouts and implementations, offering data-based recommendations.

Conduct forward-looking financial analysis and ad-hoc reporting with risk-based assessment.

Interpret and apply policies with limited guidance, considering multiple perspectives.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams and maintain clear communication with leadership.

Uphold data confidentiality and document security standards.

Cross-train team members and provide mentoring when needed.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Competencies

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance (required).

Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in Accounting or Finance (required).

Or, a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.
Physical Requirements

Work may be performed in-office, remotely, or a combination.

Regular activities include sitting, reaching, grasping, and movement between work areas.

Constant keyboard and mouse use; occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversee and enhance accounting processes related to onshore and offshore operations.

Lead and coordinate with outsourcing partners; manage escalations and ensure quality control of financial data.

Recommend and implement process improvements to drive efficiency and accuracy.

Conduct monthly close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.

Collaborate with business partners to resolve aged items and ensure compliance with financial policies.

Support audit compliance and ensure adherence to regulatory standards and best practices.

Analyze and document procedures, identify best practices, and update SOPs as needed.

Participate in small- and large-scale project implementation, ensuring alignment with IFRS standards.

Perform ad-hoc analysis and problem-solving on tasks involving risk or uncertainty.

Coordinate and lead offshore team training and manage relevant offshore calls and communications.

Prepare and review monthly accruals and financial statements.

Provide strategic guidance and develop project deliverables as required.

Ensure confidentiality and compliance with ALDI's privacy and security policies.
