Job Title: Applications Specialist II – National IT Services

About the Position
As an Applications Specialist II at ALDI, you will play a critical role in supporting our National IT Services department by managing and optimizing technical systems that drive warehouse and buying operations. This hybrid role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate with internal teams and external vendors, improve software applications, and ensure efficient project delivery in areas such as warehouse management, supplier lifecycle, tendering, and contracting systems. You'll receive a comprehensive 6-week training plan, including hands-on shadowing, to support your success in this dynamic and evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and support applications for the National IT Buying and Warehouse teams, focusing on tendering, contracting, and supplier lifecycle management.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve incidents and service requests promptly; document work and resolution steps within service management tools (e.g., ServiceNow).

  • Escalate complex issues to appropriate internal teams or external vendors as needed.

  • Recommend and implement process improvements within your area of responsibility.

  • Participate in national and international project delivery, including requirements gathering, documentation, testing, training, and deployment.

  • Support and contribute to ITIL-based service management processes for software and hardware solutions.

  • Analyze current procedures and technologies; report findings and opportunities for enhancement to leadership.

  • Maintain and apply advanced technical expertise or business knowledge to support ALDI’s operational goals.

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate relevant updates to leadership.

  • Ensure compliance with ALDI’s privacy and security policies, especially when handling sensitive or confidential information.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience required.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in application support or IT-related roles.

  • Understanding of supply chain and warehouse management processes.

  • Experience supporting Warehouse Management Systems (WMS); Manhattan WMS/WMOS preferred.

  • Experience with Ariba Tendering & Contracting, Supplier Lifecycle Management, S/4 HANA, and SAP MDG is highly desirable.

  • Proficiency in SQL (Intermediate to Advanced) preferred.

  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, ServiceNow, and data visualization tools is a plus.

  • Exposure to SSIS/SSRS reporting tools and Informatica P360 considered a bonus.

  • Strong analytical skills, effective time management, and excellent communication abilities.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience defining specifications from user requirements.

  • Proficiency with office productivity software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
