Surrounded by extraordinary people, inspiring leaders, and world changing projects, you will do more and become more than you ever thought possible.<br><br><strong>Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Lead the IT categories for Software, Hardware, Infrastructure and all related Services.</li><li>Develop world-class sourcing strategies built on rigorous facts, data, and analysis to create value across all dimensions (financial, risk, quality, supply, reputation).</li><li>Deliver financial, quality, supply, and risk-mitigation goals. Ensure savings reported are credible and compliant with the approved methodology.</li><li>Provide thought leadership on vendor market capabilities (innovation, efficiency, etc.) and identify clear limits of what suppliers cannot provide.</li><li>Oversee strategic vendor relationships to maximize value and minimize risks for Illumina, leveraging the Illumina SRM framework.</li><li>Support fellow Business Partners and country teams in deploying global strategies.</li><li>Promote consistent use of agreed sourcing tools, frameworks, and methodologies. Act as a proactive partner to the Procurement and Sourcing Center of Excellence in driving alignment.</li><li>Optimize spend and direct staff in the input to, and implementation of, global/regional sourcing strategies, and design and implement strategies for local categories.</li><li>Direct staff in the identification and validation of potential value creation opportunities.</li><li>Act as an ambassador of local Sourcing into global Sourcing and vice versa, and an ambassador of Sourcing into business and vice versa</li><li>Sit at the Function Leadership team, and at Global Sourcing and Procurement Leadership team</li><li>With the business, build and maintain a co-owned/co-shared mindset for every step of value creation. Actively solicit and obtain executive stakeholder support for sourcing strategies impacting their area.</li><li>Develop staff to ensure high caliber individuals with thought leadership and development potential. Facilitate career paths of Sourcing staff, ensuring local talent is made visible at both Sourcing and local business’s talent reviews.</li><li>Ensure diversity of thought and inclusive teamwork<br><br></li></ul>Listed responsibilities are an essential, but not exhaustive list, of the usual duties associated with the position. Changes to individual responsibilities may occur due to business needs.<br><br><strong>Requirements<br><br></strong><ul><li>Must have international experience managing suppliers and outsourced development partners</li><li>Strong experience in IT Sourcing</li><li>Strategic thinker: anticipates and develops business opportunities and priorities for future action while also executing on concrete business objectives</li><li>Customer focused, very responsive, and action oriented to meet business needs while maintaining a positive, professional outlook.</li><li>Ability to travel up to 25% of the time; both domestic and international</li><li>Strong analytical skills that allow the successful candidate to extract core data from a variety of sources, draw conclusions and insights, and translate those insights into actions.</li><li>Ability to deal effectively with pressure, multiple tasks, deadlines, and rapidly changing priorities.</li><li>Aptitude to multi-task and lead projects / negotiations.</li><li>Ability to work and interact with all departments within Illumina</li><li>Willingness to challenge the status quo with sound rationale</li><li>Proficient in use of Microsoft Office (Project, Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)<br><br></li></ul>All listed requirements are deemed as essential functions to this position; however, business conditions may require reasonable accommodations for additional task and responsibilities.<br><br><strong>Experience/Education<br><br></strong><ul><li>A minimum of 15 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree in business, finance, STEM or related field; or 12 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD with 8 years’ experience; or equivalent experience.</li><li>Typically has 7+ years of applicable people management experience</li><li>Must have 7+ years proven ability in overall Supply Chain process development, project management and execution.<br><br></li></ul>The estimated base salary range for the Associate Director, Strategic Sourcing - GIS role based in the United States of America is: $152,600 - $228,800. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
