Position Overview

We are hiring for two distinct yet impactful roles:

1. Finance Associate – Global Commodities (New York)

As part of our Finance team supporting the Global Commodities business (Oil, Power, Gas, Index products), you will partner with front office and business teams to drive financial analysis, P&L and balance sheet reporting, and valuation controls. This role is ideal for candidates seeking to grow within the BFC Product organization, with career advancement opportunities from Associate to Senior Lead levels.

2. Financial Center Client Specialist (Market-wide)

This client-facing role is focused on delivering exceptional service in our Financial Centers, educating clients on self-service resources (mobile/online banking, ATMs), processing cash transactions, and identifying tailored solutions for financial needs. This position involves training at one location, with potential reassignment based on business needs within commuting distance.

Key Responsibilities

Finance Associate

  • Prepare and analyze balance sheets and P&L reports; validate postings and balances using knowledge of financial products and risk mitigation strategies

  • Perform valuation controls, including Independent Price Verification (IPV) and Liquidity Valuation Adjustments (LVA)

  • Lead month-end close activities, financial reporting, and critical calculations

  • Partner with Front Office, Operations, and Technology to define and improve finance processes

  • Support regulatory reporting (CCAR, RRP) and strategic/annual planning

  • Provide forecasting, profitability analysis, and contribute to financial decision-making

Client Specialist

  • Engage clients to deliver tailored banking solutions; promote self-service channels

  • Manage financial center traffic, appointments, and outbound client communications

  • Handle cash transactions and ensure accurate financial processing

  • Build client relationships and refer clients to specialists in small business, lending, and investments

  • Apply risk management practices and follow operational guidelines

  • Participate in business development through client outreach and referral management

Required Qualifications

Finance Associate

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in financial services or commodities trading

  • Advanced Excel skills and financial analytics experience

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and analytical skills

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively

Client Specialist

  • High School Diploma / GED (Bachelor’s or business-relevant Associate’s Degree preferred)

  • Strong customer focus and ability to educate clients on banking solutions

  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

  • Flexible to work weekends/extended hours as needed

Preferred Qualifications

Finance Associate

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

  • Experience in challenging and reviewing financial data with a critical eye

Client Specialist

  • Prior financial services experience and product knowledge

  • Minimum six months cash handling experience

  • One year of successful sales experience in a goal-driven environment
