The Role

We’re seeking a Client Accountant to join our growing team. In this role you will be managing the full-scope accounting functions for a group of customers. Working closely with our senior accountants, you will own the ongoing bookkeeping tasks and monthly close process, to provide accurate, timely financial reporting. You will seek to optimize your customers’ accounting information systems, streamlining workflows where possible.

Our Client Accountants are Equipped to Manage the Following Areas of Responsibility:

  • Managing client relationships
  • Working collaboratively with other team members on client accounts
  • Providing ongoing accounting services, including customer invoicing and AR management, expense processing, and AP management
  • Ensuring transactions are accurately categorized
  • Managing monthly bank, credit card, and other external account reconciliations
  • Completing monthly closes, adding month-end adjustments and maintaining supporting work papers and schedules
  • Preparing regular financial statements and other financial reports
  • Troubleshooting - addressing and resolving issues effectively and speedily

What We’re Looking For in a Client Accountant

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably in accounting, finance, or administration)
  • 3+ years of recent and relevant full-charge bookkeeping/accounting experience in a client-facing service environment
  • Proficient with modern cloud-based tools - we use QuickBooks Online (QBO), Bill.com, Expensify, Bill Spend & Expense
  • Familiarity with collaboration platforms such as Slack, Zoom, Financial Cents, and Keeper, plus strong Excel/Google Sheets skills for analysis and reporting
  • Experience with ecommerce, and specifically A2X is a plus
  • Solid understanding of the accounting cycle
  • Ability to create and manage schedules, such as prepaid expense, fixed asset, depreciation, loan and inventory schedules
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills
  • Extremely organized, with excellent attention to detail and proven ability to multi-task
  • Understands how to organize information and communicate it effectively
  • Can work methodically on ongoing monthly bookkeeping/accounting work
  • Loves working as a member of a team, collaborating with others to meet objectives
