As the role matures, there is an opportunity to expand into additional retail accounts.

This role requires a proven background working with Costco, outstanding communication and analytical skills, and a proactive approach to driving results in a fast-paced retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Costco buyers and merchant teams.

  • Lead and execute the strategic planning, forecasting, and promotional calendar across all Costco channels (warehouse, Costco.com, seasonal programs).

  • Develop and implement strategies to expand product assortment, drive sales, and optimize pricing and promotional activities.

  • Conduct competitive analysis to understand market trends and Costco competitor activities, and provide actionable insights.

Analytics and Forecasting

  • Analyze sales performance, inventory levels, and forecasts using data from NPD, Costco POS, and internal tools to ensure stock health and meet demand.

  • Support demand planning and ensure optimal inventory flow and replenishment strategies.

  • Deliver weekly sell-through reports and performance insights to internal stakeholders and vendor partners.

Retail Operations and Support

  • Oversee item setup processes, including EDI integration and compliance with Costco requirements for content, video uploads, and web copy (via Syndigo or similar platforms).

  • Manage accurate records of pricing, product information, orders, planning issues, and vendor setups.

  • Assist in Smarter Sorting registration and other retailer-specific onboarding tasks.

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Alignment

  • Coordinate with Sales Operations, Marketing, Planning, and Logistics to ensure seamless execution of Costco initiatives.

  • Support internal accounting processes by maintaining accurate shipping and invoicing data for timely cash flow.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Business, Marketing, or Analytics preferred).

  • 7–10 years of experience in sales, retail account management, or analytics; must have experience calling on Costco.

  • Strong analytical and forecasting skills; ability to manage complex data sets using Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.).

  • Working knowledge of Costco’s retail systems and processes.

  • Experience with EDI integration, Syndigo, and retail software (e.g., Retail Link) preferred.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proactive, solution-oriented, and highly organized.

  • Demonstrated initiative, grit, and a collaborative mindset—driven to achieve results and solve problems independently.

  • Ability to travel as needed.

Benefits

  • Fully paid medical, dental, and vision insurance (partial coverage for dependents)

  • 401(k) contributions

  • Free snacks, drinks, and lunch on Fridays

  • Quarterly team-building events and health/wellness perks including gym membership

  • Bi-annual reviews and annual pay increases

  • Cell phone plan or reimbursement

  • Commuter stipend (for Seattle or Minneapolis office-based employees)
