Job Title: Business Development Manager – Retail & Field Sales (Costco Program)

Location: Almeda/Bay Area
Compensation: $40,000–$68,460 base + competitive uncapped commission

The Opportunity

We are seeking a dynamic Business Development Manager to oversee strategic retail accounts, drive field sales growth, and manage in-store activation programs. Reporting to a Senior Business Manager or Director, you will be responsible for executing business plans, managing category performance, nurturing retailer relationships, and leading a team of Field Sales Representatives during Costco roadshow events.

This is a hybrid role that blends strategic account management with field-based sales execution, making it ideal for individuals who enjoy both retail engagement and business leadership.

Key Responsibilities

Business Management & Strategy

  • Develop and execute strategic business plans for assigned retail accounts and product categories

  • Achieve budgeted sales and profit goals; lead promotional planning, inventory forecasting, and merchandising strategy

  • Negotiate supplier commission rates and optimize revenue opportunities

  • Identify and implement new growth initiatives in collaboration with marketing and product teams

  • Analyze market trends and consumer data to inform strategy

Field Sales Execution

  • Lead and participate in in-store Costco Roadshow events

  • Set up and break down branded demo stations; ensure high-quality merchandising and customer engagement

  • Actively promote and sell Lomi products; achieve and exceed sales targets

  • Act as the primary brand ambassador in the field, delivering an exceptional customer experience

  • Train and manage Field Sales Representatives to maintain high standards of execution and customer service

Team Leadership

  • Attract, develop, and retain key talent for field and account teams

  • Guide and support team members with clear expectations, performance metrics, and coaching

  • Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and purpose-driven work

Customer & Stakeholder Engagement

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with Costco staff and warehouse leadership

  • Serve as the key point of contact for retail partners, ensuring alignment and mutual success

  • Act with integrity and represent Lomi’s mission, values, and sustainability commitments at all times

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA or advanced degree a plus

  • 3–5 years of experience in sales, business management, or retail account leadership

  • Demonstrated success in brand-building, preferably with private brands or consumer goods

  • Strong leadership and team management skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods

  • Must have reliable transportation; mileage reimbursed

  • Flexibility to work weekends/holidays as needed
