Job Opportunity: Strategic Sales Manager & UX Designer

Position: Strategic Sales Manager (Remote - USA)

Responsibilities:

  • Support the US SVP of Sales in shaping strategic initiatives for key accounts, including Costco, and execute U.S. channel strategies.

  • Serve as the primary liaison for Costco buyers; manage line reviews, negotiations, and promotional planning. Additional retailers may be assigned.

  • Develop and analyze P&L models for new and existing business; deliver data-driven insights for internal and external decision-making.

  • Lead weekly/monthly sales forecasts and build annual operating plans; communicate forecast adjustments as needed.

  • Collaborate with Trade Marketing to develop and execute promotional sales initiatives.

  • Monitor top product performance across retail channels; deliver performance updates to stakeholders.

  • Utilize syndicated data, competitive intelligence, and consumer trends to optimize market positioning for O-Cedar and evaluate promotion effectiveness.

  • Maintain competitive audits and market analyses, tracking product assortment, pricing, placement, and promotions.

  • Other duties as assigned by leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, or Marketing (preferred).

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Sales, Trade/Shopper Marketing, Retail Buying, or Category Management.

  • Experience working for or selling to Costco, or within CPG (consumer packaged goods) required.

  • Proficiency in Excel for data analysis (MS Access experience a plus); familiarity with IRI or syndicated data preferred.

  • Strong interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration skills; excellent written and verbal communication.

  • Skilled in project management with the ability to handle multiple tasks effectively.

  • Remote position; must be willing to travel to Aurora, IL and Seattle, WA (~20%).

About the Role:

Join Costco Travel IT, part of Costco Wholesale – the world’s third-largest retailer, known for its employee-first culture. As a UX Designer, you will create meaningful user experiences that delight Costco Travel members. Work with a dynamic team of professionals committed to excellence and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate design workshops: journey mapping, storyboarding, and affinity diagramming.

  • Create interactive wireframes and prototypes using tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Sketch.

  • Conduct user research, usability testing, and competitive analysis to inform design solutions.

  • Prepare technical documentation, ensuring adherence to design specifications and accessibility standards (WCAG).

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with product, engineering, and business stakeholders.

  • Lead UX projects from concept to launch; manage expectations and negotiate trade-offs.

  • Support continuous improvement in UX practices and advocate for user-centered design.

  • Maintain and enhance Costco Travel’s design system, contributing to visual design patterns, icons, and artifacts (e.g., personas, journey maps).

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of UX design experience with a strong portfolio (consumer and enterprise).

  • Proficiency in design tools (Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch) and usability research tools (e.g., UserTesting.com).

  • Experience designing across devices (desktop and mobile) and applying WCAG standards.

  • Excellent communication, critical thinking, and project management skills.

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Lean UX principles.

  • Foundational knowledge of visual design, typography, and layout.

Preferred:

  • Graduate degree in User-Centered Design or equivalent experience.

  • Basic coding skills (HTML, CSS) for troubleshooting.

  • Experience in Agile development environments.

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary Range:
Level 1: $80,000 – $110,000
Level 2: $105,000 – $135,000
Level 3: $130,000 – $165,000
