Cashier – Kroger (King Soopers)

About the Role

As a Cashier at Kroger, you will be at the front lines of customer service, ensuring a welcoming experience for all shoppers. This role is perfect for those who are people-oriented, attentive, and passionate about providing exceptional service in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

  • Create an outstanding customer experience through proactive, friendly service.

  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system, processing various tender types (cash, credit/debit, SNAP EBT, WIC, coupons, etc.).

  • Follow procedures for restricted item sales (alcohol, tobacco, etc.).

  • Maintain a clean and safe workspace and report any pricing discrepancies.

  • Assist customers with product inquiries and general support throughout the store.

  • Stay informed on current and upcoming ads, promotions, and policies.

  • Comply with all company guidelines and state/federal laws.

  • Support safety programs and equipment maintenance.

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Prior customer service experience

  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, counting)

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred:

  • Previous experience as a Bagger or Courtesy Clerk
