<strong>Summary<br><br></strong>Under the direction of the Assistant Store Manager, the Lead Retail Associate will be responsible for customer service, warehouse, production, cash register operations and all related duties involving cash flow, and donated goods for the Retail Store. This position is also required to support all front and back end employees, clients, and operations.<br><br>Embrace Opportunity Village's core values by cultivating positive and meaningful CONNECTIONS with participants and team members, demonstrating ENTHUSIASM, high standards of PRODUCTIVITY, authentic STEWARDSHIP, and consistent participation in individual and team DEVELOPMENT.<br><br><strong>Essential Duties And Responsibilities<br><br></strong><ul><li>Provide support and training to Retail Associates and perform daily cash register sale transactions and customer service.</li><li>Open and closing responsibilities such as balance cash drawers, record/log register totals, bank deposit, recover store, prepare warehouse and processing areas, and complete daily reports such as production and end of shift.</li><li>Complete and ensure the accuracy of required paperwork such as daily cash receipts, sales and carryout slips, deposit slips, ID Notes and Incident Reports).</li><li>Greet customers and treat them in a professional manner.</li><li>Provide training and assistance to ensure that all donated items are accurately sorted, processed, priced and stocked.</li><li>Monitor customer access to and cleanliness of register area and fitting rooms.</li><li>Assist those with walk-in donations and customer carry outs.</li><li>Help to ensure the store is clean, organized and free of safety hazards.</li><li>Leads daily and or weekly team huddles specific to assigned area.</li><li>Assists department Supervisor(s) with employee coaching and performance reviews.</li><li>Ensures compliance with established policies and procedures.</li><li>Participate in Safety Committee activities and procedures.</li><li>Report suspected Abuse, Neglect, Exploitation, Isolation, and Abandonment (ANEIA) immediately as mandated by state law.</li><li>May be assigned other duties as needed<br><br></li></ul><strong>Supervisory Responsibilities<br><br></strong>Assists with the supervision of Retail employees and individuals served in assigned contract areas. See Direct Care Addendum<br><br><strong>Skills Required<br><br></strong><ul><li>Ability to communicate effectively with individuals, team members, and supervisors (verbal and written).</li><li>Must possess social discernment to assess and understand other's reactions and behaviors.</li><li>Ability to define problems and draw valid conclusions.</li><li>High energy, positive and enthusiastic outlook.</li><li>Self-directed, with strong ability to work independently, and to set and adhere to deadlines.</li><li>Ability to set priorities, follow through to completion of tasks, work well under pressure, and maintain a high level of confidentiality.</li><li>Ability to accept and apply performance-based feedback.</li><li>Must encompass professional demeanor.</li><li>Ability to perform basic cash transactions and arithmetic.</li><li>Ability to lead a team and comfort with public speaking (i.e. facilitating huddles, conducting coaching sessions, providing instruction, and redirecting behaviors).<br><br></li></ul><strong>Education And Experience<br><br></strong><ul><li>Required: High School Diploma or equivalent.</li><li>Required: One (1) year verifiable work experience in related field in a lead or key holder role (i.e. retail sales and cash handling experience).</li><li>Required: Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and First Aid Certification is required or the ability to supply certification within 90 days.</li><li>Required: Current Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Certification is required or must be obtained within 90 days.</li><li>Preferred: Experience working with individuals with disabilities.<br><br></li></ul><strong>Physical Abilities & Work Environment<br><br></strong>The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by a team member to successfully perform essential functions of the job.
