Department Overview: Global Technology Infrastructure & Operations (GTIO)

GTIO’s mission is to deliver modern, scalable, and reliable technology that supports how McDonald’s works globally. As part of this dynamic team, you’ll collaborate with market leaders, technology teams, and third-party partners to operate and innovate core technology services, with a focus on enterprise network infrastructure and ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) compliance.

Position Summary

The Senior Technical Product Manager / Network Architect is responsible for designing and leading McDonald’s core and hybrid cloud network platforms, while also overseeing governance related to internal controls (SOX) and ESG reporting. This dual-focus role integrates technical expertise with regulatory leadership, helping McDonald’s maintain a robust, secure, and compliant infrastructure environment.

You will work cross-functionally with cybersecurity, infrastructure, internal audit, finance, and ESG teams to ensure the network and control systems are resilient, efficient, and audit-ready.

Key Responsibilities

Network Architecture & Technical Leadership

  • Design and maintain a global, hybrid network fabric integrating Equinix CNFs with AWS, GCP, and Azure.

  • Develop and enforce network blueprints, standards, and reference architectures aligning with GTIO strategy.

  • Lead Equinix Fabric integrations including BGP peering, VLAN stitching, and VRF segmentation.

  • Oversee deployment of Cisco ASR/Nexus routers, ensuring HA, BGP path control, and L3/L2 connectivity.

  • Integrate SD-WAN (Viptela/Meraki) for distributed cloud access and traffic optimization.

  • Collaborate with Cloud Engineering to ensure resilient interconnects (ExpressRoute, Interconnect, VPN).

  • Drive observability initiatives with improved telemetry, alerting, and network performance analytics.

  • Provide mentorship, documentation, and governance support via Confluence and Jira Agile workflows.

Internal Controls & ESG Governance

  • Lead the SOX internal controls program, supporting quarterly and annual control reviews.

  • Collaborate with finance and audit teams to streamline SOX processes and enhance sustainability.

  • Drive standardization of controls and develop self-testing and continuous control monitoring frameworks.

  • Lead remediation tracking and ensure effective resolution of control deficiencies.

  • Oversee ESG reporting integrity, defining business requirements for repeatable, auditable data processes.

  • Educate teams on the evolving ESG landscape, enabling compliance with global disclosure regulations.

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years in network architecture across datacenter and cloud environments.

  • Expertise in Equinix Fabric, Cisco ASR/Nexus, BGP, and multi-VRF networking.

  • Proven experience with AWS/GCP hybrid interconnects and SD-WAN platforms (Viptela/Meraki).

  • Deep understanding of network security, ZTNA, firewall policies, IPSEC/GRE tunnels.

  • Experience in SOX compliance, financial controls, and governance.

  • Strong communication skills; ability to present to executive leadership and cross-functional teams.

  • Proficient in Agile tools (Jira, Confluence); ability to lead complex, multi-functional projects.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications: CCNP, CCIE, AWS/GCP Networking Specialty.

  • Experience with Terraform, GitHub, and infrastructure-as-code pipelines.

  • Background in public accounting or internal audit; strong IT controls experience.

  • Experience with ESG data reporting tools and sustainability frameworks.
