Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Microsoft 365 Systems Engineer to design, implement, administer, and optimize Microsoft 365 services in a dynamic enterprise environment. This senior-level role plays a critical part in driving collaboration, security, automation, and productivity across the organization through effective management of Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, implementation, and administration of Microsoft 365 services, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Entra ID (Azure AD), Intune, and Microsoft Purview.

  • Serve as a technical escalation point for complex M365 and Google Workspace incidents, service requests, and performance issues.

  • Administer access and configure resources, features, and solutions in Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace, ensuring high availability, security, and performance.

  • Develop and maintain automated workflows using PowerShell, Power Automate, and Power Apps to streamline administrative tasks and business processes.

  • Provide second-tier support, triaging and resolving technical issues while ensuring excellent user experience.

  • Design and implement custom solutions leveraging SharePoint Online and Power Platform to meet evolving business needs.

  • Drive security and compliance initiatives, including implementation of MFA, Conditional Access, DLP, encryption, and adherence to standards such as GDPR, SOC 2, and NIST.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and technology teams to gather requirements and translate them into actionable technical solutions.

  • Create and maintain technical documentation and provide training and support materials for team and end-user education.

  • Monitor and evaluate Microsoft releases and updates, proactively managing their impact and ensuring the environment remains current and optimized.

  • Recommend tools, technologies, and best practices to improve operational efficiency and business outcomes.

  • Ensure successful audits and compliance outcomes through proactive governance and lifecycle management.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience required).

  • 5–7 years of hands-on experience managing Microsoft 365 services in mid- to large-scale enterprise environments, including hybrid cloud/on-premises Active Directory.

  • Proficiency in PowerShell scripting; experience with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) is highly desirable.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365 tenant administration, including SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, Entra ID, Intune, and Microsoft Purview.

  • Experience with security and compliance tools and protocols, including Conditional Access, DLP, eDiscovery, encryption, and retention policies.

  • Familiarity with third-party tools such as BitTitan, Quest, CrowdStrike, SumoLogic, and Jira is a plus.

  • Microsoft certifications preferred, such as:

    • Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert

    • Security Administrator Associate

    • Modern Desktop Administrator Associate

  • Working knowledge of Google Workspace administration is preferred.
