As part of this evolution, our Ads Data Clean Room team plays a crucial role in building privacy-preserving infrastructure to support targeting, measurement, attribution, and data onboarding.

Team Mission:

Our mission is to develop advanced Data Clean Room (DCR) solutions that balance cutting-edge advertising capabilities with world-class privacy standards. We empower secure, multi-party data collaboration using Privacy Enhancing Technologies (PETs) to deliver measurable value for both members and advertisers.

Role Overview:

As an L6 Software Engineer, you will be a strategic and technical leader, responsible for designing and delivering privacy-first data infrastructure that scales with Netflix’s growing advertising business. You will partner with cross-functional teams to define architecture, build scalable data systems, and drive innovation in privacy-preserving ads technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a technical thought leader, driving long-term DCR strategy and innovation.

  • Design and build clean room integrations, supporting secure data sharing with advertisers and partners.

  • Develop APIs and control plane models for scalable and future-proof ads data infrastructure.

  • Lead complex, high-impact projects involving privacy-preserving technologies and confidential computing.

  • Drive cross-functional collaboration, influencing platform-wide technical decisions.

  • Mentor and guide engineers, while fostering a culture of innovation, inclusion, and psychological safety.

  • Navigate regulatory complexity (e.g., GDPR, CCPA/CPRA), embedding privacy-by-design into all solutions.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 5+ years in a technical leadership capacity.

  • Deep knowledge of Privacy Enhancing Technologies, identity resolution, and adtech/martech ecosystems.

  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, Spark, and experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure).

  • Expertise in data minimization/anonymization techniques and privacy-safe data collaboration.

  • Prior experience with advertisers, publishers, or DCR providers, and audience activation or measurement.

  • Strong understanding of ads operations, campaign setup, measurement, and reporting.

  • Knowledge of digital advertising standards, industry consortiums (e.g., OPJA), and clean room standards is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and build scalable cloud network architectures (e.g., VPCs, load balancers, IPv6 configurations).

  • Develop and maintain software for network automation, configuration management, and observability.

  • Engage with engineering teams to understand business needs and deliver high-quality, scalable solutions.

  • Collaborate on microservices and distributed systems, optimizing for resilience and fault tolerance.

  • Embrace continuous learning, drive innovation, and solve complex networking problems.

  • Work with tools like Temporal, Kubernetes, and Docker, and contribute to network optimization initiatives.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Strong experience in cloud networking (especially AWS), including subnetting, routing, and security.

  • Proficiency in C++, Go, Python, or similar languages; focus on clean, maintainable code.

  • Solid understanding of network protocols (L2-L7) and troubleshooting in production environments.

  • Familiarity with orchestration tools (Kubernetes, Docker) and workflow engines (e.g., Temporal).
