About the position

Responsibilities

  • Engage patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
  • Resolve patient issues in a timely manner and answer questions to ensure a positive patient experience.
  • Model and share customer service best practices with team members.
  • Connect with patients by anticipating needs and proactively offering services.
  • Participate in events that reflect the unique communities served.
  • Counsel patients regarding medication usage, side effects, and interactions.
  • Perform pharmacist tasks including compounding, drug therapy reviews, and medication management.
  • Ensure the pharmacy operates in accordance with regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain current knowledge of pharmacy systems and technology.
  • Ensure accurate processing of insurance claims and follow up with providers.
  • Perform clinical and wellness services such as immunizations and diagnostic testing.
  • Assist the pharmacy manager in analyzing performance data and inventory management.
  • Develop connections with the local medical community and participate in outreach activities.
  • Assist the Pharmacy Manager with staff hiring and training.
  • Promote teamwork and motivate team members.
  • Maintain current knowledge and required licensing/credentialing/certification.
  • Seek professional development and feedback from managers.
  • Support the Pharmacy Manager by communicating relevant corporate health and wellness information.

Requirements

  • BS in Pharmacy or Pharmacist Degree from an accredited educational institution.
  • Current pharmacist licensure in the states within the district.
  • Experience performing prescription dispensing activities with knowledge of state and federal controlled substance laws.
  • Certified Immunizer or willing to become an immunizer within 90 days of hire.

Nice-to-haves

  • At least 1 year experience as a pharmacist in a retail setting including prescription filling and verification.
  • Experience with pharmacy operations, software, and insurance systems.
