Position Summary

The Solid Dose Process Engineer will play a key role in supporting project management activities, including building simulation models and analyzing data using various tools. This position is responsible for introducing new products and processes by providing technical expertise from ideation through to first plant production. The engineer will also support the preparation and implementation of factory CAPEX projects and provide ongoing technical assistance to manufacturing sites through the Technical Assistance Request process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Innovation / Renovation pipeline:
    • Responsible for the design and development of products and processes used in manufacturing from small-scale manufacturing to commercial operation
    • Support the development of the solid dose technology roadmap for NHSc
    • Analyzes existing equipment and recommends modifications when necessary for process optimization
  • CAPEX Project Management and Support:
    • Support the development of processes and manage the planning and execution in accordance with the project brief
    • Collaborate with the other project team members to improve efficiency and strengthen competencies
    • Effectively communicate project status and results through written technical documentation and oral presentations
    • Preparation / review of PFD, P&ID's or project specific specifications
    • Perform process calculations like heat & mass balance, utility sizing
  • Technical Assistance:
    • Be recognized as a specialist in the field and as a resource that Markets, factories, PTC's, R&D's and other depts.
    • Can provide technical assistance remotely or on site when required
    • Make recommendations for process improvements to the relevant stakeholders
    • When necessary participate in teams to carry out technical due diligence evaluations of suppliers and technical line validations of Nestle or co-manufacturing factories worldwide
Experience and Education Requirements
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of Process Engineering experience in solid dose factory environment or similar
  • Must have previous experience working on Oral Solid Dose facility projects
  • Experience in incorporating safety in the process/equipment design
  • Project Management Experience in a Food Manufacturing facility
  • Experience in tablet compression, encapsulation, dry mixing, Coating Processes.
  • Knowledge on the use of AutoCAD, simulation software and process modelling tools
  • Good understanding of Technology, Regulatory, Quality and Safety Requirements for Oral Solid Dose Manufacturing
  • Knowledge on equipment standards and selection for Granulation, Tableting Press, Coaters, Capsule Filling machines
  • Basic understanding of simulation and process modelling tools #LI-SF1

The approximate pay range for this position is $115,000.00 to $130,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
