About the Position

As a Partner Resources Specialist and License Analyst, you will play a vital role in supporting both our partner (employee) experience and compliance operations across North America. This dynamic position combines responsibilities in partner relations and licensing, ensuring smooth operations, strong compliance, and exceptional support for our stores and facilities.

You will contribute to Starbucks’ success by:

  • Supporting the Partner Relations team through information gathering, investigation support, and process improvement.

  • Managing licensing compliance by handling business and tax license renewals, ensuring stores and facilities remain operational without disruption.

Key Responsibilities

Partner Relations Support

  • Gather and assess information about reported partner issues to determine priority and support appropriate Partner Relations experts.

  • Assist with investigations by researching relevant documents and supporting sound resolution processes.

  • Serve as a liaison for cross-functional teams to streamline practices and standardize partner resource support.

  • Develop and revise templates, SOPs, reports, and presentations for continuous process improvement.

  • Track investigation activities, conduct data analysis, and prepare reports for leadership.

  • Contribute to Partner Relations programs, initiatives, and project work as assigned.

License Compliance & Management

  • Manage a portfolio of business and tax license renewals across U.S. and Canadian jurisdictions.

  • Accurately complete and submit applications and payments to governmental authorities in a timely, compliant manner.

  • Initiate and track license fees and tax payments—up to $2 million annually—while choosing the most cost-effective payment methods.

  • Submit payment documentation for approval and manage license data in the central database.

  • Ensure accurate distribution of licenses and permits to stores and facilities by required deadlines.

  • Follow records retention guidelines, document management standards, and compliance communication protocols.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in human resources administration or systems.

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a customer service or support role.

  • Experience managing data in systems such as licensing, accounting, or POS databases.

  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Office Suite (especially Outlook, Word, Excel).

  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and prioritization.

  • Clear and concise communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Ability to conduct research and demonstrate resourcefulness.

  • Experience in a retail store environment or leadership role (preferred).

Nice-to-Haves

  • Proven ability to establish effective working relationships via phone, email, or virtual platforms.

  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance, licensing, or tax documentation processes.
