Job Description
Sutherland is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented, and motivated individual to join our team as an Associate - Back Office Analyst. Job Responsibilities:

  • Define Sutherland's Reputation:
    Provide comprehensive accounting support for FTP clients, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all deliverables.

  • Produce Financial Statements:
    Collaborate closely with transaction processing teams on finance and accounting matters to prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and statements.

  • Analyze and Reconcile Accounts:
    Perform detailed analysis of income statement accounts and monthly reconciliation of balance sheet and general ledger accounts. Identify discrepancies, recommend improvements, and implement corrective actions.

  • Maintain Up-to-Date Financial Information:
    Prepare detailed monthly, quarterly, and annual schedules for management, external auditors, and SEC reporting requirements. Assist with journal entries and month-end close activities.

  • Strengthen Business Relationships:
    Work collaboratively with business units to develop division budgets and maintain accurate financial records within the system. Support the Manager and team in fostering a customer-focused work environment.

  • Be Analytical and Creative:
    Develop and implement tools to measure customer satisfaction. Partner with management to identify opportunities for enhancing overall service quality.

  • Support Continuous Improvement:
    Contribute ideas and support initiatives aimed at streamlining business processes and increasing operational efficiency.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field from a four-year college or university; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 0-3 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance roles.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Word; experience with financial software/systems preferred.

  • Strong understanding of fundamental accounting concepts and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.

  • Demonstrated ability to produce accurate financial reports and statements that adhere to company standards.

  • Strong customer service orientation and ability to manage relationships within diverse teams.

  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach and ownership of responsibilities.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment that values continuous improvement.
