Job Opportunity: Project Support Assistant / Technical Support Specialist – USPS Program

About the Position

Tetra Tech, in collaboration with General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), is seeking a skilled Project Support Assistant to support various operational and administrative functions of the United States Postal Services (USPS) programs, including those under the Office of Inspector General (OIG). This role is remote with occasional on-site client meetings in Gainesville, FL, requiring proximity for commuting purposes. The position will assist project and financial managers, support procurement operations, and contribute to IT and software support efforts aligned with USPS OIG initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the setup and closure of USPS projects, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all required documentation.

  • Conduct conflict of interest screenings and prepare bid and proposal checks in internal systems.

  • Create, manage, and review project documentation templates such as proposals, reports, and quality control checklists.

  • Maintain and update the USPS program database, tracking project progress and ensuring all relevant files are up to date.

  • Coordinate with financial and procurement teams to support invoicing, payment tracking, and other client requests.

  • Support the preparation, formatting, and submission of professional reports.

  • Provide technical and operational support within USPS OIG’s Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), aiding strategic IT initiatives.

Requirements

  • Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in project coordination, documentation, or technical support.

  • Experience working with federal government programs is strongly preferred.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills; ability to manage several projects at varying phases.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (advanced), Word, and Adobe Acrobat Editor.

  • Excellent attention to detail, customer service, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

  • Security clearance eligibility through the federal government (USPS branch).

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS preferred; BA considered).

Preferred Skills and Areas of Expertise

  • Familiarity with IT support services and software development environments.

  • Experience with public trust security clearance processes (MBI T2).

  • Knowledge of tools and systems such as Microsoft Power Platform, SharePoint Online, Power BI, SQL, and Azure is a plus.

  • Exposure to data analysis, business analysis, or system administration roles is an advantage.
