Job Title: Senior Director, Pharma Partnerships & Hub Operations
Location: Remote | Travel Required up to 50%
Salary Range: $136,000 – $338,600 (plus bonus potential)

Job Summary

Walgreens is seeking an experienced healthcare leader to drive strategic partnerships with global biopharmaceutical manufacturers and oversee high-performing hub service operations. This dual-focused role enhances Walgreens’ competitiveness in the specialty and retail pharmacy markets by leading initiatives that foster manufacturer collaboration and operational excellence in patient support programs. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in pharmaceutical partnerships, hub operations management, and cross-functional team leadership to improve patient outcomes, streamline access, and optimize financial performance.

Key Responsibilities

Pharma Partnership Strategy & Development

  • Establish and manage partnerships with global biopharmaceutical manufacturers, focusing on retail and specialty pharmacy distribution, including access to Limited Distribution Drugs (LDD).

  • Lead the design and execution of joint strategies in Rx DTC marketing, adherence services, data analytics, and unique distribution models to drive mutual growth.

  • Negotiate service agreements with pharmaceutical manufacturers, ensuring alignment with internal teams such as Purchasing, Supply Chain, Legal, and Clinical.

  • Act as the primary liaison between biopharma partners and internal stakeholders (e.g., Pharmacy Operations, Marketing, Digital, Specialty Pharmacy).

  • Analyze market intelligence to identify emerging opportunities and drive early engagement with manufacturer partners.

Hub Operations Leadership

  • Oversee daily hub services and ensure timely execution of patient support programs in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and compliance standards.

  • Develop and implement operational policies to maximize program efficiency, resource utilization, and patient/provider satisfaction.

  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and continuous improvement plans for performance optimization.

  • Lead the implementation of technology solutions to support program delivery, including CRM platforms, data management, and analytics tools.

  • Manage the Non-Commercial Pharmacy (NCP) and ensure all operational processes meet regulatory and company compliance standards.

  • Facilitate client engagements, including Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), proposals, and program design collaborations.

  • Monitor industry trends to drive innovation and competitive advantage in hub operations and partnership models.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and at least 6 years of experience in pharmaceutical account management, trade relations, or pharmacy operations; OR High School Diploma/GED with 9+ years of relevant experience.

  • 7+ years of experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical operations leadership.

  • Demonstrated success in cross-functional collaboration, strategic planning, and execution.

  • Experience in contract negotiation, financial management, and client relations.

  • Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical business models, distribution channels, and cost drivers.

  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Willing to travel up to 50% for business needs.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree or MBA.

  • Experience in hub services, patient support programs, reimbursement, or specialty pharmacy.

  • Licensed Pharmacist (RPh), where applicable.

  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and project management capabilities.

  • Proven ability to innovate and implement scalable solutions in healthcare services.
